14 Aug WASHINGTON : THE CAPITOL OF HUGE EVENTS
A big city has many characteristcs that make it difFerent from the others, since the quantity of inhabitants, tourists until infra-structure to keep this status. Washington is in this level, because besides being a crowded city and visited by many tourists, it must take care of both populations. That’s why it has many huge events that happen periodically there and attract a large number of visitors and also investors.
During one entire week in January and another one in August occurs the Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week. During these two periods, previously subscribed restaurants offer specific menus in very cheap prices for brunch, lunch and dinner, sometimes with dessert included. You can, for instance, have lunch spending only US$ 16,00 to eat two sandwiches and to drink one beer or soda.
In September two huge events happen there. One of them is cultural, the Library of Congress National Book Festival. As rhe name says, it takes place at the Library of Congress and has the presence of many famous authors. There the readers can meet them and buy their books, besides talking to them ang getting autographed copies of the novels. Activities involving famous characters and games are also in the program, making it an event for the entire family.
The other one is the H Street Festival. Being 11 blocks wide and having 14 stages along this famous street, it is the biggest street festival in Washington. There happen fashion shows, musical presentations, poetry and children activities. Everything for free.
